Dear Stephen,
I am writing to commend you and your company for the excellent work you have just
completed at Little Trinity Church. We are extremely pleased with the quality of
workmanship as well as the personal care and attention you gave this job. I was
particularly impressed with your efforts to stay on budget despite some unexpected
difficulties such as the severity of the wood decay on some windows and the ant
infestation in one of the eyebrows at the front of the church.
We will definitely be calling on you when we’re ready for the next phases
of our Church’s restoration program (outside doors, church addition external windows,
courtyard windows and doors, pews and general inside painting).
It has been a pleasure working with you, Stephen. Many thanks for a job well done.
- David Quayle Little Trinity Church, Toronto
Stephen,
We have felt blessed by God for bringing Fine Restoration and Painting to our church.
Our thanks go to your crafts people but especially to you Stephen. Your generosity and
personal interest in Little T have led you to become a friend and an honorary member of our gospel community.
May god bless you in the years ahead.
With prayer, On behalf of the congregation.

To whom it may concern:
In August of October 2006, Fine Restoration & Painting carried out restoration work on the windows and doors
at Enoch Turner Schoolhouse, a designated heritage building. The Schoolhouse was built in 1848, with a major
addition in 1869. The 24 windows of this Gothic Revival building are a prominent architectural feature.
Fine Restoration & Painting did an excellent job of repairing and painting the windows and doors. This project
received a grant from the Toronto Heritage Grant Program, a City of Toronto program. One requirment of this
program is an inspection by Heritage Preservation Services staff, and the City representative was impressed with
the results of the restoration work.
We found the people associated with Fine Restoration & Painting a pleasure to work with and I recommend the firm
for any project of this type.
- Sincerely, Shirley E. Hartt Curator, Enoch Turner Schoolhouse
Dear Mr. Pearson:
As you have completed the restoration of the windows and head mouldings at the
Enoch Turner Schoolhouse, I am taking this opportunity to thank you and your work force for
the care and attention that you have given this project.
The last major restoration of this 1848 structure was completed by Nightingale & Quigley
Architects in 1972 and the windows have suffered greatly since that time. I was particularly impressed
with the stripping and examination of the window conditions prior to commencing work and the attention that
was given to rebuilding rotted and damaged frames, sash and head mouldings prior to application of the prime
coat. I look forward with confidence to many years of continued performance from the windows on this
historic building.
- Yours truly, Garnet Quigley
My husband and I would like to thank Stephen Pearson and Fine Restoration &
Painting for providing A+ services.
They took the necessary time to scope out all that was required for our
condominium renovations and understand our full needs, which included a
complete paint job, two full bathroom renovations (removing all old tiles, installing
new tiles and replacing old tubs with new) and installing new baseboards throughout.
All of this work was completed on schedule and within our agreed upon budget.
My husband and I are completely delighted and 100% satisfied with the results, and
we would recommend Fine Restoration & Painting to our friends, family,
acquaintances and others, in a heartbeat.

I am very pleased to recommend Stephen Pearson and his team at Fine Restoration and Painting.
I was impressed with Stephen's professionalism and knowledge of his products.
He guided me with color choice and suggested the right products to be used for
the areas to be painted. He insisted that a good preparation would be done before
starting any painting. My project was carried through in a very efficient manner and
in a reasonable amount of time. The premises were cleaned every day. On
completion of the project, the painted area was returned to its original state,
and the rooms look fantastic!
I am very pleased with the results!
- Matine Dussault, Toronto
Just a note to say how pleased I am with the job your team did of painting the
outside of my house. I liked the thorough preparation, which was badly needed,
and I appreciated the trouble you took to get the colour I wanted as I am very
particular about colour. As well, the painters were quick and professional and left
everything clean and tidy when they were finished. So, thank you for a fine job,
it looks lovely!
Steve, your company Fine Restoration and Painting
is in my opinion has done a first class job on our house. It’s a bit like magic,
I can’t believe it; you and your men transformed our house in just a few days and made it look new.
The preparation of the walls before you painted really impressed me. When you left
there was no mess, no signs of visitors!
I thanked my friend Karen who recommended you. We will definitely recommend
you to our friends.
I am pleased to recommend Mr. Stephen Pearson, painter.
Mr. Pearson painted several areas in my home. He did an excellent job, and
when he left, everything was clean and in order –not a drop of paint on floors.
I was so satisfied that I have contacted Mr. Pearson to paint other areas in my home.
Thank you very much for the beautiful job that you and your crew did on our home.
When I was given your name by Benjamin Moore’s referral service, I had been
extremely frustrated by the poor workmanship that we had suffered at the hands
of several painters whom we had hired in the past to work on our house.
As you know, our house was built in 1882; and is a magnificent example of high
Victorian style and building skill. It is of masonry construction with considerable
detail in the eves and doorways. Originally, the house was a very elegant large
town home, inhabited by a family and servants. We had been working for the past
15 years on restoring the house to its former state. When we started living in
the house, it had many layers of paint inside and outside, each layer having been
applied over the previous layer without proper scraping or sanding.
You appreciated the beauty of the house and recognized that the house required
considerable preparation and repair to the trim before it could be painted.
Your work involved repairing word trim and replacing some detail that had
deteriorated because of the lack of proper preparation by previous painters,
and due to water damage caused by years of neglect during the period from
the 1930’s through the mid 1970’s, when the house had been converted
to a rooming house that had 21 rooms. Your crew scraped away the old paint, and
in many areas removed the old paint down to the original wood. In areas
where there was damage, your crew repaired the wood and built-up damaged
sections, so that the trim was restored to its original shape and thickness.
You applied primer and two or more layers of finish paint. I was particularly
impressed that you had your crew sand between coats. Your crew cleaned up at
the end of each work day; and was very careful not to damage the outside or the
inside of the house. They were very courteous to me and to my wife;
and they answered all questions that we had about the progress of the work.
You recognized the beauty of the moldings and trim and found ways to repair
it and selected a contrasting colour to emphasize and highlight the shape
and depth of the detail. The highlighting of the detail of the front of the house
greatly improved its appearance and reflected the work that the original
builders of the house would have done.
Our house was on the Cabbagetown Tour of Homes this year. It was a hit with the
crowd; and many people picked up your business cards on their way through the house.
I am pleased to recommend you anyone who asks for a reference. I think
that your interest in your work and the care that you take are rare qualities.
I look forward to having you do more painting for us in the future when we decide
to change the interior colours, and when more maintenance is required on the exterior.
- Terry K. Lewis, Toronto
I wanted to forward this in thanks of the fabulous job you and your team did on our home.
Unlike many other professionals we have dealt with, you are truly a man of
your word, standing by your work, giving us accurate deadlines and living up to
the quality we hope for! We will happily recommend you to others and call you again when our next project
starts.
Thank you again, it was a pleasure!
- Anne & Sheldon, 77 Heathdale Ave.
Fine Restoration and Painting completed my 2002/2003 renovation with
an outstanding painting job. I had been concerned that the seams in the
woodwork of my windows and trim would ruin the finished look. They
painstakingly filled in all the seams leaving all corner joints looking solid.
As none of my wall are very straight they also built up the plaster on the
ceilings and walls so that there where no gaps where the wood moldings meet
the walls and ceilings. The result was a perfect finish which almost 3 years later
still looks good as new.
In addition to their professional results Fine Restoration and Painting was a pleasure
to work with. They cover ever thing that could be damaged, contain dust
with plastic curtains and clean what they can at the end of each day.
I highly recommend this company.
